• Monday 1 July 2024 Babington Language Ambassadors Teach French to Primary Schools! Language Ambassadors from Babington Academy joined pupils at Woodstock Primary school to teach French to KS2 Children. Babington Academy students confidently delivered lessons on numbers, colours & greetings - well done! Woodstock pupils said they enjoyed learning from their peers and applying all of their learning from over the year.
• Thursday 23 May 2024 Heatherbrook Colour Dash! Heatherbrook Primary Academy raised an amazing £1,866 for Leicester Children's Holidays in a Colour Dash!
• Monday 18 March 2024 ResearchED Birmingham On Saturday 16th March, a group of staff from across the MAT attended the ResearchEd Birmingham conference. They joined over 500 education professionals from across the country, sharing best practice and learning from one another.
• Thursday 7 March 2024 SWHS Live Lounge South Wigston High School have successfully hosted their first ever Live Lounge! SWHS students took the lead on a project where students and staff came together for a wonderful evening of creative performances enjoyed by family and friends.
• Monday 18 December 2023 A big thank you to Toys on the Table! Our Family Support Worker and Academic Outreach Tutor from our Education Welfare Team had fun having a go at being Santa's helpers today. Thanks to local Leicester charity, Toys on the Table, the team were able to deliver donated presents to children from across all 5 of our academies! We are overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity shown toward our young people this festive season. Thank you!
• Thursday 5 October 2023 National Poetry Day x BHM 2023 On World Poetry Day this year, it is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate black female voices as Black History Month 2023 aims to honour and uplift the achievements and contributions of black women.
• Tuesday 11 July 2023 A Night at The Oscars The staff at Woodstock Primary Academy put together a great send off for their leavers last night! Year 6's and staff said their goodbyes as they celebrated with a Night at The Oscars!

• Friday 28 April 2023 CPD - Curriculum Drop-Down Day Today, we invited LwLAT leaders and teachers to our Training Room to take part in Trust-wide CPD, delivered by Dr. Debra Kidd and Hywel Roberts.Our leaders are working on a project to collaboratively develop a Trust-wide curriculum drop down day for all our pupils later this term.Those who took part in today’s session will return to school and feedback what they learnt to a larger group of colleagues.It is great to see how our academies work with and support one another. We look forward to seeing how the curriculum drop down day develops! Thank you to all of the LwLAT Team who took part today, and to our guests for a great session.
• Tuesday 25 April 2023 Nursery Open Afternoon at Heatherbrook Primary Academy Today we welcomed parents and carers in our community to come and spend some time in our Nursery with their little ones.
• Friday 31 March 2023 Woodstock Primary Academy Year 4 Residential Trip Year 4's at Woodstock Primary Academy had a fantastic residential trip to Kingswood! The children were pushed to their limits and conquered fears! Year 4 were brilliant ambassadors for Woodstock Primary Academy and showed resilience throughout.The trip began with bushcraft and firelighting activities and some groups explored the wildlife in the ponds. After dinner, children took part in the scrap heap challenge before showcasing dance moves at the disco.
• Tuesday 21 March 2023 Roll up, roll up! Our Heatherbrook pupils tried a selection of different fruits today: dragon fruit, kiwi, melon, star fruit and mango.
• Friday 10 March 2023 Babington - IQM Flagship School Status Babington Academy were recently re-inspected for their IQM (Inclusion Quality Mark) Flagship School Status.
• Tuesday 7 March 2023 South Wigston High School Design 63m Long Mural On Tuesday 7th March South Wigston High School students had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the first stage of a new mural design for the pedestrian railway bridge in South Wigston.
• Wednesday 15 February 2023 Lancaster Academy Careers LRI Visit Today 20 Lancaster Academy students from year 9 and 11 visited the LRI to attend a Careers in Medicine event. They learnt about radiology and how to identify irregularities on scans and about different career pathways that could take them into a variety aspects of medicine. They also took part in practical sessions led by NHS professionals including CPR, blood pressure, detecting heart problems with a stethoscope and examining ears and eyes. They also got to try out a machine that is used to train people to undertake endoscopies and heart surgery. Many of these students are aiming to pursue a career in medicine and they thoroughly enjoyed the day.
• Friday 10 February 2023 National Apprenticeship Week 2023 Charlie has recently joined us as an apprentice in ICT Support and has kindly shared his thoughts on the experience so far.
• Thursday 9 February 2023 Wellbeing and Art #Let'sConnect Throughout Children's Mental Health Week, students across the Trust have been thinking about how we connect through music and other art forms, such as poetry and drawing, to learn more about ourselves and our emotions.
• Tuesday 7 February 2023 Safer Internet Day (SID) 2023 It is great to see all of the events taking place across the LwLAT today. Safer Internet Day presents opportunities to reflect on potential online risks and review our thinking & resources on how best to support children, young people and the wider community in staying safe online.
• Thursday 12 January 2023 Trust Debating Competition A big thank you to both Woodstock Primary Academy for hosting and to Rachel Barker, Assistant Principal at Babington Academy, for organising our first Trust Debating Competition!
