Safer Internet Day (SID) 2023
Trust Safeguarding Lead
It is great to see all of the events taking place across the LwLAT today. Safer Internet Day presents opportunities to reflect on potential online risks and review our thinking & resources on how best to support children, young people and the wider community in staying safe online. For us, Safer Internet Day is every day – we will always make space for conversations about life online and how to use the internet safely.
Firstly, well done to two of our Babington students who contributed to the SID 'Map film', which will be broadcast today (Feb 7th) during SID celebrations at the BT Tower, London. This is a fantastic achievement and we can't wait to see the final video!
In our Academies today, students are reminded of the importance of online safety in Trust-wide assemblies. In our Primary Academies, they are busy completing their Kapow online safety units and are taking part in classroom activities to refresh their online safety knowledge learnt in their Computing lessons. At our Secondary Academies, students continue their ongoing work around online safety and are sharing their opinions by asking the bigger questions - "is the internet driving us apart?".
